Where to Watch Fireworks in the Tri-Valley
When the sun goes down, the Tri-Valley delivers. Here's where to catch a show:
Pleasanton — Alameda County Fairgrounds (Ticketed) | Link
The biggest fireworks show in the Tri-Valley is right here in Pleasanton. The Alameda County Fair will be open on July 4 through the Fireworks Spectacular Show that starts at 9:30 PM, with a full day of rides, entertainment, and festivities in celebration of America's 250th anniversary and Blues Fest before ending the night with fireworks over the Michelob Ultra Grandstand. Plan ahead, parking lots close at 4:30 PM and admission gates close at 5 PM, so arrive early. Note that on other fair nights, a nightly drone show takes place over the grandstand (except July 4), so there's reason to visit any night of the week.
Dublin — Safe & Sane Fireworks in the Parks (Free) | Link
Safe and Sane fireworks usage is permitted at four designated parks in Dublin: Shannon Park, Dublin Sports Grounds, Alamo Creek Park, and Emerald Glen Park, starting at 10 AM. Dublin is the only Tri-Valley city where personal fireworks are legal, making these parks a fun neighborhood alternative to a formal show. Bring chairs, blankets, and the family.
Nearby: Pleasant Hill Fireworks (Free) | Link
If you're open to a short drive, the Pleasant Hill fireworks viewing party returns to College Park High School, with fields opening at 6:30 PM and fireworks around 9:15 PM, suggested donation $4 per person.
A Note on Fireworks Laws
Individual fireworks (including safe and sane) are banned in Pleasanton, Livermore, San Ramon, and Danville. Always check local city guidelines before the holiday.
