The Livermore Rodeo 2026: Everything You Need to Know About the World's Fastest Rodeo
The Livermore Rodeo is more than just a weekend event…it's one of the oldest and most beloved traditions in our community. Held every June at Robertson Park, the rodeo first began back in 1918 as a fundraiser to support the Red Cross during World War I. What started as a local effort quickly became a Livermore legacy and today it's known as the "World's Fastest Rodeo." From PRCA competition and the iconic downtown parade to deep roots in ranching, western heritage, and community pride, the Livermore Rodeo continues to bring generations together year after year.
The 108th edition is scheduled for June 13–14, 2026. We wanted to get ahead of the curve and make sure you knew ALL the events leading up to the big weekend! Get your tickets now before they sell out! Yeehaw!
A Brief History of the Livermore Rodeo
The Livermore Rodeo has humble, heroic beginnings. In 1918, Livermore residents were challenged to raise $1,200 for the Red Cross during World War I. Their solution? Throw a rodeo. That first event was held on a ranch near what is now the I-580 and Portola interchange and it was so successful that Universal Studios sent a film crew to capture it for national newsreels shown in movie theaters across the country.
That national spotlight put Livermore on the map and convinced the community to make the rodeo an annual tradition. By 1919, the Livermore Stockmen's Rodeo Association was formed, land was purchased, and a century-long legacy was born. Today, the Livermore Rodeo is one of the longest-running rodeos in California and one of the most celebrated in the nation.
